GroundSpark productions include That’s a Family!, Straightlaced—How Gender’s Got Us All Tied Up and the Academy Award-winning Deadly Deception—General Electric, Nuclear Weapons and Our Environment. Chasnoff will focus on developing documentary films that inspire social change and activism. The master class will include a screening of Straightlaced—How Gender’s Got Us All Tied Up and selected clips form other works.

This event is part of the SF State DocFilm Institute’s fall 2012 Master Class Series, where cinema students and the Bay Area community will have the opportunity to engage documentary filmmakers in rigorous filmmaking discourse from experts. The series revolves around the pre-production process of making a documentary film from concept and social activism to funding and producing.
