JUDAISM UNBOUND -- Rachel Gross, the John and Marcia Goldman Professor of American Jewish Studies at San Francisco State University, thinks that food is “the world’s most important subject.” She joins Dan and Lex to tell them (and you!) why that is and why that fact matters when we seek to understand the Jewish past, present and future.

“Jewish restaurants are a really important place where Jews think about who they are and articulate that both to themselves and non-Jews,” Gross says. “ ... Delis are an interesting place because we think about Jewish history in these places.”
